1st Advisory Board meeting minutes

LONDON, Friday 9th October 2015

As part of the project activities, KTN has organised the first Advisory Board meeting of MEnS, during one of the project meetings in London.

The Advisory Board meetings are the opportunity for the consortium as a whole to meet and discuss MEnS goals and activities with key experts and industry representatives in some countries.

This is an added value for MEnS activities and provides the following opportunities:

  • Inputs and guidance to guarantee a set of outcomes closer to the market's needs.
  • Opportunity to compare commonalities and differences in 10 countries about the building sector situation, which can have an influence in NZEB uptake and retrofit projects (government priorities, market’s needs and industry trends in different countries)
  • To explore together with partners from 10 European countries, the challenges and the opportunities in the field of NZEB and retrofit, and how an interdisciplinary and pragmatic approach could make a real difference for professionals of the construction sector and to realise high quality and sustainable buildings.

At the same time this is an opportunity for the Advisory Board members to:

  • Contribute and provide inputs from their organisation experiences and case studies, which could be shared thorough various channels across Europe and beyond;
  • Feed-in and take part in the upcoming projects activities, both in UK and overseas.
  • Establish links with other professionals, professional bodies, businesses and academics working across Europe on Nearly Zero Energy Buildings and Retrofit.
  • Share views and suggestions for future opportunities to explore about the skills of professionals and the framework they operate in.
